How to repair a leaking tap

⚠️ The Combi Boiler Trap

A leaking tap is a very simple repair, on this page we'll help you keep it simple.
If you are watching online tutorials, 80% of them will tell you to just buy a cheap rubber washer. What they don't tell you about is the difference in water pressure between traditional gravity feed systems (which means you have a tank in the loft and a copper cylinder in your airing cupboard) and a recently installed Combi boiler.
If your home has a modern combi boiler, your pipes are under much higher mains pressure. This means you likely have a modern quarter-turn ceramic tap.  If your new Combi boiler was installed without changing the taps your old tap compression washers are wearing out at triple the speed. Don't waste time buying the wrong parts—let's identify your system correctly.
We only deal with reputable suppliers, companies that offer a complete service, on line assistance and money back guarantees.  Follow these simple image guides to make the right choice of tools for the job and the right parts that you will order.
