Tickle your Tastebuds

Our chefs are artisans, creating delicious recipes with food fresh from nature. Each of our tastebuds sense the full flavour of food, the fresher the source the more vibrant, the more intense the taste.

“Real food doesn’t have ingredients, real food is ingredients.”
Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver, his appeal is good wholesome home cookery, his style is an open approach to cookery and cuisine.

But, whenever we go out to restaurant to enjoy fine dining, we know we must pay more for the best, which invariably means the ingredients are fresh.

So why do we buy convenience at home?

Only fresh ingredients make a meal where every flavour will tickle your tastebuds, in ways that can truly delight.

Fresh ingredients possess a chemistry packed full of goodness that combines to form both aroma and flavour.  Heat releases essential oils, sugar, fats and acids that bring your recipe to life, then, as Thomas Keller says, you have brought soul to your recipe.

“A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.”  Thomas Keller

A Quick Look at our Food Groups

There are five major food groups, each one has its own part to play in healthy eating

“Play to each element’s strengths: use Salt to enhance, Fat to carry, and Acid to balance flavor.”

Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking

Our food groups are inherent to us all, yet within each group there is always room to explore. By extending our knowledge of the nuance they play in our health and well being we can become greater masters of our culinary creativity but don't forget Superfoods

Tips for Incorporating Superfoods:

Eat the rainbow -  Choose a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables to get a wide range of nutrients.

Add greens to your meals -  Incorporate spinach, kale, or other leafy greens into salads, smoothies, or cooked dishes.

Snack on nuts and seeds - A handful of nuts or seeds can provide a healthy and satisfying snack.

Choose lean protein sources - Opt for fatty fish, eggs, or beans as part of your meals.

Don't be afraid to experiment -  Try new superfoods and see how you can incorporate them into your diet.

Recipes are a combination of innovation, experimenting and a good dash of experience

Top tip to make healthy eating easy?

Always have basics in the cupboard like herbs, spices, chopped tomatoes, stock cubes and avoid pre-made sauces as they tend to have a high sugar/salt content. - Chef James Head of Development Mindful Chef

Mindful Chef Recipes

The UK is only about 60% self sufficient in food resources. By supporting businesses like Mindful Chef we will encourage farmers and growers to respond to demand for local quality produce
The UK produces most of the cereals, meat, dairy and eggs that it consumes, This figure is lower for vegetables (53% in 2023) and fruits (16% in 2023) due to UK climate suitability, seasonality and consumer and producer choices.
